They usually express the experience of a civilization in terms of climate, history, myths, customs and institutions. Today, the saying is considered an art form in its own right, which develops autonomously and has the ability to interact with other forms and other arts.
Proverbs are used in different ways and have different structures. In our work, we will lean towards the use of animals in these popular expressions in order to discover their meanings.
In other words, it conveys a general truth stated at one time about an event that has occurred, and is repeated as a lesson of wisdom and reason so that a mistake that has been made will not happen again.
Morocco has a great variety and is undoubtedly one of the most culturally diverse countries in the Mediterranean. Popular arts are essential to maintain social cohesion and the cultural, touristic and economic dynamism of the nation.
Here, we will develop the symbolic importance of animals in sayings, as it represents the most popular oral heritage of Morocco. To do so, we will discover some proverbs with domestic animals, wild animals and even birds, and we will find out the symbolic place and the moral of this oral lesson for those who use it and those who apply it.
We will also compare the use of this animal in French, Spanish and English proverbs to see the difference in the meaning of this animal in the proverb.
