Aplicación de la economía circular en el desarrollo del turismo regenerativo: situación y soluciones para la región de la costa central

Resumen

Recientemente, el sector turístico ha experimentado un crecimiento significativo, pero este desarrollo en ocasiones ha generado resultados insostenibles que perjudican tanto a la población local como al entorno. La creciente preocupación por el medio ambiente y la creciente presión sobre los recursos naturales han popularizado la idea del turismo regenerativo, integrado con la economía circular. Esta es una vía viable para lograr la sostenibilidad a largo plazo del crecimiento turístico. El objetivo de este estudio es investigar cómo se podrían utilizar las ideas de la economía circular para promover el turismo regenerativo en la Costa Central de Vietnam. Mediante una investigación cualitativa, que incluyó una revisión bibliográfica y una investigación de campo, que abarcó de mayo a diciembre de 2023, los resultados del estudio revelan que, si bien el turismo en la zona ha impulsado considerablemente la economía local, también ha generado diversos problemas sociales y ambientales. El mantenimiento del turismo en la zona depende claramente de una transición hacia un turismo regenerativo respaldado por políticas de economía circular, que incluyan la reducción de residuos, la optimización de recursos y la restauración de ecosistemas. Políticas gubernamentales más sólidas, la cooperación intersectorial y una mayor concienciación y educación entre empresas y turistas dependen de los resultados de la investigación de manera clave.
